PEMBERDAYAAN PEREMPUAN DI DINAS PENGENDALIAN PENDUDUK KELUARGA BERENCANA PEMBERDAYAAN PEREMPUAN DAN PERLINDUNGAN ANAK KABUPATEN MELAWI

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze women's empowerment programs implemented by the Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Office (DP2KBP3A) of Melawi Regency. The research focuses on work program planning, program implementation, resources, and performance achievements. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving key informants consisting of the Head of the Agency, the Head of the Women's Empowerment Division, the Head of the Women's Empowerment Subdivision, and women from the community.

The findings indicate that work program planning has been carried out by considering the needs and aspirations of women through coordination with community organizations such as PKK, Dharma Wanita, and the Women's Organizations Association. The implementation of women's empowerment programs includes education and literacy activities, health and nutrition programs, skills training, economic empowerment initiatives, as well as gender equality and women's protection campaigns. However, the implementation process still faces several challenges, particularly limited human resources, operational budgets, facilities and infrastructure, and accessibility to remote areas. The performance achievements of the women's empowerment programs are considered fairly satisfactory, as reflected in the increased participation of women in economic and social activities and improved access to training and capacity-building opportunities. Therefore, greater resource support, stronger inter-agency coordination, and broader community outreach are needed to optimize the implementation of women's empowerment programs.
