DAMPAK DIET PALEO TERHADAP RISIKO PENYAKIT KARDIOVASKULER PADA PELAKU DIET

Meningkatnya prevalensi penyakit kardiovaskular (CVD) pada masyarakat modern terkait erat dengan pola makan tinggi gula, lemak trans, dan makanan olahan. Diet Paleo hadir sebagai pendekatan berbasis makanan alami yang meniru pola makan manusia prasejarah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak Diet Paleo dalam menurunkan risiko CVD melalui metode studi pustaka. Literatur yang ditinjau meliputi publikasi lima hingga sepuluh tahun terakhir dari basis data seperti PubMed, Scopus, dan Google Scholar, dengan fokus pada hubungan antara Diet Paleo dan kesehatan jantung. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa Diet Paleo secara konsisten memperbaiki profil metabolik, termasuk penurunan tekanan darah, kadar trigliserida, serta peningkatan sensitivitas insulin dan HDL. Namun, diet ini juga berisiko menyebabkan defisiensi mikronutrien, khususnya kalsium dan vitamin D, akibat penghindaran terhadap produk susu dan biji-bijian. Untuk itu, modifikasi diet dan pendampingan profesional dalam pembelajaran Biologi Sekolah Menengah Atas sangat disarankan, terutama dalam penerapan pada siswa usia remaja. Diet Paleo juga relevan untuk dijadikan materi pembelajaran di sekolah menengah, karena mengintegrasikan konsep biologi, metabolisme, dan gaya hidup sehat. Kesimpulannya, Diet Paleo memiliki potensi sebagai strategi preventif terhadap CVD jika diterapkan secara bijak dan adaptif. Disarankan adanya penelitian longitudinal untuk mengevaluasi dampak jangka panjang serta pengembangan kurikulum berbasis literasi kesehatan guna meningkatkan kesadaran gizi di kalangan remaja.
